I prepared for my scuba diving workshop, not knowing what to expect. Would people laugh at my swimming costume (it was those kind with the strap)? Would there people wearing the same type of costume as me? Would it be fun? Would it be dangerous underwater? Would we be able to use the air tank? Would the air tank be too heavy for me? All these questions and more were circling around in my head.

Day 1 (Yesterday)
Thankfully, there was not much to worry about. When we reached Mt Faber SAFRA, we were instantly in awe at the place, probably not the first time we've seen a swimming pool, but it's definitely the first time we're learning SCUBA DIVING together with our friends. After a quick change into swimming costumes (most of us wore our P.E. attire on top first), we sat down for our theory lesson. We learnt the different terms for the scuba diving equipment and thereafter, got the chance to assemble them together. And just to add to the coolness of it all, we were allowed to test out the air tanks and flippers.

After that, the instructors played a diving game with us. We were divided into three teams. And the game was sort of something like, they will throw some tubes and coins into the pool and we have to dive to get the items, which had points written on it, as after a while, they will sink down. The criteria for winning will depend on the instructors. Surprisingly, my team, consisting of the 6A girls, won two out of three of the challenges and both criterias were for the team with the least points!!! Lol! So in other words, we didn't expect to win! Haha! Sadly, we had to bathe shortly after the game. Before that, we managed to snag some toast from Ya Kun Kaya Toast though. Hehe!

Day 2(Today)
Today, everyone was really excited as we knew that we would be able to finally use the diving equipment and go underwater to dive. At first, we were asked to divide ourselves into 4 grps. I was in grp 4 with the 6A girls as well but unfortunately, Aries, Yi Xin and Li Yi had to join the other team as there was simply too many 6A girls (Haha! Girrrl power!) The instructor, Jackie, let us swim two laps with our teams to see if we were confident swimmers first before dividing us into two grps again. The first grp will scuba dive first while the other grp wld play water in the other pool first and vice versa later on.

I was in the other grp along with Yvonne, Annabel, Charlene, Shi Ying, Joscelin and Valerie so with nothing to do, we swam laps, dived around, slide down the slide and invented a game called "Water Tug-Of-War". Haha! In case you're wondering what it is, it's something like you and your partner sit on the shallow pool ground wiht your legs seated in a square and then you take turns to pull your partner until your head touches the water. The challenge is to not be swayed by the pulling and the water. Oh well, it looked like it was going to rain then but after praying so hard to God, thankfully, it only drizzled a lil so we were allowed to stay in the pool.

Next it was our turn to scuba dive, we put on the gear which was ald floating on the surface after being used by the first grp and practised breathing through the regulator, which took a bit of time getting used to cuz underwater, you cld only breathe through your mouth and not your nose, learning the different techniques of clearing your goggles underwater and clearing your regulator of water. Thereafter, we swam around the pool UNDERWATER! Haha! Except that we kept banging into each other's air tanks and legs! We swam through this square thingie and just around the pool. Thank gdness it was in a pool! Some of us were not used to it and had to keep on going to the surface. If it were in the ocean, we wld have died long ago... Oh well, all in all, we enjoyed every single moment of the workshop so no regrets!
