Today at dinner, it was really entertaining and my bro shared with us this very interesting assembly talk by his Deputy Principal. All good things must be shared so read on:

Four Lessons I Learnt From My Mum by Mr Lim

No 1: Don't Dig Your Nose In Public

According to researchers, there are three kinds of nose diggers-

1) The Flicker
2)The Paster
3)The Painter

I think I do not need to explain further for the names in themselves speak volumes. So actually, what we should learn from this is to carry ourselves properly in public so as to uphold a good public image.

No 2: Eat Your Vegetables

Many children and teens, even adults, dislike eating vegetables for a variety of reasons- too chewy, makes you choke, no taste, just to name a few. But, we all know that veggies are good for us and we have to eat them to be healthy. And so, the next lesson is, we have to always do what is right and good even though it is hard to do so. Give an example: Some people gossip and talk bad about other people just to be in the "in" crowd even though it is not right.

No 3: Hold Hands While Crossing The Road

This lesson teaches us that we should always help each other out on life's roads and not compete to win for our own personal gains. It's all about finishing the race together, side by side and not alone.

No 4: Wear Clean Underwear

Let me tell you a funny joke that my mother used to tell me: Imagine one day you are injured or had a car accident and your injuries are on your thigh. The paramedic, in order to treat you, has to pull down your pants. And if everyone sees your dirty underwear, well, you know. But there are some who can still stand it and as you know, Singaporeans are very kaypoh so a crowd would soon gather and smell your dirty underwear. *cue laughs* Anyway, the principle behind this lesson is that we should always be clean on the inside and not hypocritical. Example: Some of you may greet, "Mr Lim, how are you? Hope you have a nice day!" but go back today and post on your blog saying, "Wah, this Mr Lim arh, hair so untidy today. His clothes are always old-fashioned and look like from the 80s'.". This kind of people are hypocrites and backstabbers. You must always have a clear conscience and not do things behind the backs of other people.

-End of speech-

Reflection:
I really love that speech! At the dinner table, the whole family was laughing like crazy and we indeed learnt valuable lessons from this speech. It was meaningful and applies to all of us one way or another. Lol! So anytime you need some encouragement just read this! A good speech indeed! If we had this kind of speeches every week, we would surely look forward to assembly!

Note:
Every effort has been made to recount and remember all the details of the speech even though I can't guarantee that every word Mr Lim said is in here. Credits go to Mr Lim, of course, for such a marvellous speech and my bro for patiently recounting the speech to me as I blogged!

Hey guys! So boring these days... I contemplate that this would be my shortest post ever but we'll see when my brain juice dries up. Lol! So nth much happening these few days... Fortunately, I would be occupied from Thursday onwards so WOO HOO!!! Can you believe that we still have 2 months of this nothing-to-do-ness before school actually starts??? It's kinda sad actually... I mean, it seems like only yesterday when it was CNY 2007. And now, end of PSLE, wah lah, nothing to do... Time really flies when your having a good time, huh? One thing we can be assured of, though, is God's goodness and blessings to us. I had a thought one day and it was about growing up. I mean, I'm sure all of us given a chance, would want to go back in time to do certain things, maybe. Take the PSLE again, correct mistakes we made in the past or just enjoy our childhood again and the list goes on... We often forget that through it all, God was with us and still is. He will be with us till the end. And even though we cannot turn time back, we can always look ahead with joy and confidence that God is with us. I do get that thought again once in a while, but I look up and I smile to thank God for guiding me all the way which reminds me of this Hillsongs song: "God you make me smile as I look to you and, I never thought life could be so cool. I'm so free to be me. We're a generation that will live for you and nothing's ever gonna stop us from loving you. We believe in Jesus..." Lol!

So just the other day, I saw this two books in Popular. "For One More Day" and "Tuesdays With Morrie" by Mitch Albom. I think Mdm Lim had recommended us these books before so I immediately persuaded mummy to buy them for me. Lol! After reading the blurb for "For One More Day", she also agreed, saying that without reading the book itself, she already wanted to cry cuz' it was so touching. (Luckily, she didn't or I'll be embarrassed to death!) There was another one too "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" but there was no blurb to entice her so we didn't purchase it. Don't ask me what the plot is, though, I haven't gotten down to reading it. My bro immediately reserved it for himself. Lol! You bet I'm gonna get down to reading the books after he does! If you're into touching stories, you might like the "For One More Day" book! Both are Popular's Bestsellers so check them out if you're interested! Lol! Please note: NO ONE'S commissioning me or paying me to like advertise for the books or anything. It's just purely based on personal opinions.

Btw, I have also changed the song for my bloggie! I've decided to change the song every month. So just check it out, will ya? The song for this month is "When We Die" by Bowling For Soup. It is the only serious song that they have ever recorded & I LOVE it! Enjoy! Tata for now and until I blog again, me hearties!

Thursday, October 11, 2007,

Hey y'all! I'm BAAAAACCCCKKKK!!!! *readers gasp, "Could it be?? Is it HER???"* Yep ppl! It's me, the one and only, LATINQUEEN REGINA!!! AHHHHHH!!! Oops! So anti-climactic! Pai seh... Lol! So... back to the updates! I trust that everyone has been going around talking abt the PSLE being over so I shan't spend too much time on that... Even though it IS a really happy thing! Lol! YAYYYYY!!! PSLE OVERRR!!! Oops! *face reddens* Erm... sorry ppl... Officially back to the updates...

Ok, so on the last day of PSLE, my beloved mummy took leave and brought me out to celebrate!!! So happy! We went to watch Ratatouille, which at first, she was reluctant to watch cuz' it was a cartoon. Oh well, so after reading the synopsis, she agreed to watch it as it taught values as well so it was educational. True to 6B's words, the movie was so cool!!! I hereby declare that every movie made by Pixar is like the coolest! Lol! I read in What's Up that they had to study how food reacts to certain stuff and the shadows and all so it was really hard work! After that, we went to Swensens to have dinner with the rest of the family! The food came shortly after we ordered so our starving stomachs were soon filled and then, as celebration that PSLE was officially over, mummy allowed me and bro to choose one plate of ice cream all to ourselves! So cool!

Then the next day, I was invited to Charlene's B'day partay!!! Really, really, loads of fun! Her house was like so BEAUTIFUL!!! I never knew that a HDB house could look like a bungalow from the inside lehx! Lol! Anyway, after some light snacks, we played some games that Charlenie and her little bro planned for us which was quite cool cuz' we were laughing like mad hyenas ALL THE TIME! Lame us! We were sorta divided into three pairs, me and Amanda in the "Super Lamoes", Eunice and Joscelin in the "Neutrals" and Hsin Min and Rebecca as the "Coolios". Lol! And while hopping with a blanket in between our legs (pls do NOT think sick), we made everyone sing the Spongebob song "I'm a goofy goofer!". It goes like this:

I'm a Goofy Goofer, yeah
You're a Goofy Goofer, yeah
We're all Goofy Goofers, YEAH!
Goofy, goofy, goofy goofers, yeah!

Interesting right? Lol! Cuz' we like to GOOF! Haha! Oh well, then we cut the cake which was so pretty in a heart shape that I almost stopped Charlene's mother from cutting but resisted the urge to. Haha! Thereafter, everyone started to leave which only left me and Eunice who stayed back a lil' to watch a DVD with Charlene. My gosh! She has like a GAZILLION of DVDs man! There was so many we wanted to watch but under her recommendation, we finally decided on "She's The Man" starring Amanda Bynes, the inspiration for our little sketch "The Regina And Amanda Show". It was so memorable man! Lol! Well, with that, I would like to say a BIG happy b'day to Charlene whose actual b'day is today and Li Yi too! Happy b'day gals!

Today, since I was free, I went jogging with Amanda and Eunice in the evening. Lol! They two were like panting all the while despite my warnings that they can't stop immediately after the start if not they will damage their hearts.(something like dat... I learnt from my mummy de...) Lol! We kept teasing Amanda about Yu Hao and I even said that if Amanda doesn't catch up, she likes Yu Hao! Lol! That made her run as fast as the wind! After running abt 1.6 km roughly, we decided to head home while I hitched a ride from Amanda's father, acting lame with Amanda all the while!

It has been a really fun three days and I hope that the days ahead will be as fun! Have fun, me hearties! May God bless you richly! Until I blog again!
